Catching Butterflies

I know it’s coming into Fall but I just couldn’t resist the Catching Butterflies fingerless mitts by Tiny Owl Designs. AND, I just happened to have a nice new cake of Knit Picks palette in Calypso cooler that I thought would be PERFECT for this project. It has an interesting take on cables. They don’t actually cross like normal cables do, but wing out in the opposite direction from one another so that it gives the illusion of tiny butterflies within the design of the glove. It also has you slip the cable stitches two rows before you cable them. I think this is so that you have more room to twist the stitches around each other so they aren’t so tight when working them. It’s a great design so far and I’m looking forward to the finished project. =-)

Hello world!

I have started this blog to go along with my Ravelry pattern store and to offer other patterns that I have modified. Anything to do with yarn and knitting needles will be found here. lol. I”m just getting started, so please forgive the simplicity for now. =-)
